Jager Schnitzel W Gravy Recipe
Goes great with a side of red potatoes or corn! Be careful though: the gravy is addictive!

Ingredients
  • 4 pieces Pork Cutlets (tenderized if you prefer)
  • Italian-Style Breadcrumbs
  • 2 Eggs
  • Oil to fry
  • Seasonings to personal taste
  • For Gravy:
  • 1 pkg. maple flavored bacon (cooked and crumbled:prep)
  • 1 heaping Tbsp. tomato paste
  • Sliced mushrooms (crumbled into small chunks)
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley

Directions
  1. Rub seasoning into cutlets according to personal taste.
  2. In shallow dish beat eggs and then dip cutlets in.
  3. Bread dipped cutlets with breadcrumbs.
  4. Place cutlets in pan over medium heat with enough oil to coat bottom of cutlets.
  5. Brown until cooked through turning as needed.
  6. When done put onto dishes.
  7. For Gravy:
  8. While meat is browning, saute bacon, tomato paste, and mushrooms until warm over low heat. (we use a 3:2 ratio of bacon and mushrooms but put as much as you like in)
  9. Kick heat up a little and add wine, water, and seasonings stirring occassionally. (if you need to add more wine- go for it! - as long as it's heated for awhile the wine really brings out the gravys flavor)
  10. Remove from heat and spoon onto schnitzel. (sauce will be thick)
  11. Eat and Enjoy!
