Russian Tea Cakes

- 1 cup of butter (softened) shopping list
- 1/2 cup powdered sugared (sifted confection) shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour (not firmly packed) shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 3/4 cups of finely chopped pecans OR walnuts shopping list
How to make it
- Mix butter, sugar & vanilla together. Separately combine flour and
- salt together. Blend flour & salt with the first 3 ingredients. Stir
- in nuts. Chill dough for 1/2 to 1 hour. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Roll dough into one inch balls and place on un-greased baking sheet. (these do not spread so they can be placed close together on baking sheet) Bake for approx 10 - 12 minutes until set but not browned. Watch the bottoms. Remove from oven and while still warm, roll into more powdered sugar and let cool. You can roll again in powdered sugar when serving. Makes approx 3 dozen.
