Ingredients

How to make it

  • Saute chopped onions and peppers and celery in oil in LARGE stock pot; add garlic;
  • Add all beans (do not drain), soup, and tomatoes with all their juices, stirring to combine well;
  • Add water or stock to desired consistency;
  • Add lemon juice, spices, and hot sauce;
  • Simmer for one and a half hours;
  • Add cubed ham and simmer for another 30 minutes;
  • Remove ham bone and bay leaves before serving.
