Pancakes Recipe

Pancakes Recipe
We eat these any time of the day. This is a very basic recipe. I just want it out here for my children, who are scattered across the country to find so they can use "Mom's" recipe. We love pancakes with home made syrup.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Directions
  1. Mix everything together, in a 4 cup measuring cup.
  2. I like a fluffy pancake so I use a little more milk, my Daddy always said he wanted a meal that stuck to his ribs, so Mom uses the 1 1/2 cups of milk. You decide.
  3. Pre-heat the slillet so that when you drop a few drops of water on it they sizzle and vanish.
  4. On my electric stove its between 5 and 6.
  5. Pour enough pancake batter to form a 6 inch pancake into the pan.
  6. Cook until the top is bubbly.
  7. Flip, cook for another minute.
  8. Serve with warm maple syrup or your own home made syrup.
  9. Enjoy.

Great post!

Sounds so good! thanks for the post!

These were disappointing...I don't think the people who rated these made them before doing so. Maybe it was all the baking soda ??

the egg can be replaced with 2 Tbsp. water + 1 Tbsp. oil + 2 tsp. baking powder. It works quite well actually.

I also usually mix in some cinnamon and vanilla for taste.
