Mimmies Special Cheese Date Cookies

- ½ lb extra sharp cheddar cheese, grated shopping list
- 2 sticks butter, softened (lightly salted is OK) shopping list
- 3 cups self-rising flour shopping list
- ¼ tsp ground cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1 large box pitted dates shopping list
- 1½ cups pecan halves shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350o.
- Mix well grated cheese and softened butter. Add flour and cayenne pepper. Blend thoroughly to make soft dough.
- Pinch off a small amount of dough about the size of a walnut. Place a date and a pecan half together and wrap with the pinch of dough to completely cover the date and nut. Repeat until ingredients are used.
- Place cookies on un-greased cookie sheet and bake in 350o for 20 minutes (more or less depending on oven and thickness of dough.)
