Sausage Sauerkraut Pie Recipe

Hearty but simple casserole similar to Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients
- 1 lb mild pork sausage
- 1 16 oz can sauerkraut
- 3 - 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
- Crumble sausage and cook thoroughly in skillet.
- Drain fat from sausage and place sausage in the bottom of a 2 quart casserole dish
- Drain sauerkraut and place in a layer on top of sausage
- Spread mashed potatoes over sauerkraut layer
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over potatoes
- Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes or until warmed through.

Mmmmmmm, sounds good to me. I would probably add sauted onion, celery and a handful of frozen and thawed green peas. But, I really like your recipe because it's quick and you have omitted extra work. Thank you for sharing ;-)
