How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Sift together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and spices. Set aside.
  • Cream butter and brown sugar util light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla and lemon rind.
  • Add flour mixture alternately with the whipping cream, beginning and ending with flour.
  • Stir in the ground ground almonds.
  • Shape the dough into 1/4 inch balls. Place them on ungreased sheets. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown underneath.
  • Leave cookies on the baking sheet for about 1 minute to firm up slightly before transferring them to a wire rack.
