- at least shopping list
- 4 pieces each of shopping list
- chicken drumsticks and shopping list
- chicken thighs shopping list
- (i dont use chicken breast, they are too big) shopping list
- 1 cup flour (approx.) shopping list
- white pepper, freshly ground shopping list
- 1 teasp. salt shopping list
- 1 small teaspoon sweet red paprika powder shopping list
- Crisco shopping list
- milk shopping list
How to make it
- heat large skillet with at least
- 1 cup of crisco, high heat
- wash chicken pieces
- put flour, salt, pepper, paprika into plastic bag
- put two chicken pieces at a time into bag, shake
- put chicken pieces in skillet,
- after about 2 minutes, reduce heat to min.,
- cover
- after 15 minutes, remove lid
- turn chicken carefully, heat on high, about 3-5 minutes
- cover
- after about 15 minutes, remove lid
- turn chicken
- turn up heat (careful not to burn or flour will get bitter)
- after about 5 minutes, turn heat to medium
- let chicken cook for a few more minutes
- taste for crispyness with finger - then decide if it needs more time, it depends on the chicken you've bought - bio or not, young or old...
- remove chicken from skillet
- drain on paper towels
- tip pan to remove all fat, leaving the beautiful brown residue,
- pour milk into skillet
- bring to boil, stirring constantly
- it takes a few minutes, then flour will desolve, making a lovely, goey, tasty gravy.
- your may want to keep adding mild or chicken stock to get the consistence you want.
- normally, you need no more salt or other spices, maybe just a dash of worcester sauce.
