New Orleans Muffaletta Recipe
The muffaletta originated in New Orleans in 1906 at the Central Grocery Store owned by Salvatore Lupo.

Ingredients
  • 1 round loaf italian bread
  • 1/4 lb mortadella, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 lb ham, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 lb hard Genoa salami, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 lb Mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 lb Provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1 C. olive salad

Directions
  1. Split a muffuletta loaf or a loaf of Italian bread horizontally. Slightly hollow out bread.
  2. Spread each half with equal parts of olive salad.
  3. Place meats and cheeses evenly on bottom half and cover with top half of bread.
  4. Cut in quarters. Enjoy!
