Cheesy Broccoli Rice Casserole Recipe

There are many recipes for broccoli cheese casseroles but I think this one is the best. I made this for Thanksgiving and had two brother-in-laws ask for the recipe ! Freezes well too.

Ingredients
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 c rice, cooked
- 1 pkg. frozen chopped broccoli (16 oz)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 c milk
- 2 c grated Velveeta cheese
Directions
- Saute onion in margarine in skillet until transparent
- Combine with remaining ingredients in large bowl
- Mix well
- Spoon into large casserole dish
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes

I love that this is made with Velvetta instead of Cheese Wiz! I am going to use fresh steamed Broccoli instead of Frozen, I think it will give more broccoli flavor. Thanks for the recipe!

I lost my recipre for this dish and this seemed almost the same so decided to give it a try. it came out good but i also added a few good shakes of black pepper and a dash of cayenne to give it a little kick.
