Hot Water Cornbread Recipe
A good hot quick bread thats good with southern veggies. its served in the south alot..The object of this reciped is to get the water boiling hot and the greasing rolling hot..thats the key..Ive had this recipe for years and its never failed me..

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup regular corn meal
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon baking powder
  • dash of salt
  • Boiling water enough to make batter stick together

Directions
  1. In a skillet pour enough oil in pan so batter can float
  2. get the oil really hot
  3. Mix the above ingredients together and add boiling water just enough to make stick together
  4. drop by spoonfuls in to hot oil...
  5. Cook about 2 1/2 minutes on each side till brown

Donna... its a staple down here in the south... some add grated onion to it and that gives it a good twist too... thanks for the comments
