Apple Spice Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350
  • Make Vanilla glaze
  • Beat butter, shortening and sugars in a large bowl on medium until creamy.
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla until well blended
  • Beat in all dry ingredients just until blended
  • Stir in apples and walnuts
  • Drop by rounded Tbl (scant 1/4 Cup) onto ungreased cookie sheets
  • Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are set
  • Cool 2 minutes; remove to wire racks with wax paper underneath
  • Drizzle about 1 tbl glaze onto each warm cookie, using a spoon
  • Cool completely (about 10 minutes)

    Made them today and they are almost gone! I ate 6 right off the cookie sheet!! What a glutton If was, my hubby has the last of them next to him while watching TV! lol... so good!!!

    Wow - these just have my name written on them. I've been craving a good oatmeal cookie and well, adding apples to them just makes me smile. And then there's the glaze on top... I just have to try these. Thank you, Pat! =)

    I love the use of fresh apples in this recipe. Do these freeze? It's so cold here right now that I have lots of time for baking.
