Apple Spice Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c butter, softened

1/4 c shortenig

1/2 C sugar

3/4 C packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

2 C old fashioned oats

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp baking soda

1 1/2 C flour

2 small apples, peeled and chopped (2 cups)

1 C coarsely chopped walnuts

Vanilla Glaze

2 C confectioners sugar

2 Tbl butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 c half and half

Directions

Heat oven to 350

Make Vanilla glaze

Beat butter, shortening and sugars in a large bowl on medium until creamy.

Beat in eggs and vanilla until well blended

Beat in all dry ingredients just until blended

Stir in apples and walnuts

Drop by rounded Tbl (scant 1/4 Cup) onto ungreased cookie sheets

Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are set

Cool 2 minutes; remove to wire racks with wax paper underneath

Drizzle about 1 tbl glaze onto each warm cookie, using a spoon

Cool completely (about 10 minutes)
