braised pork steak with mushrooms and olives

- 4 pork steaks shopping list
- 2 slices bacon shopping list
- seasoned flour for dredging shopping list
- 1/2 onion shopping list
- 4 cloves garlic shopping list
- 4 oz sliced fresh mushrooms (best with portabellas of course) shopping list
- 1/4 c. sliced black olives shopping list
- 1/2 c. red wine shopping list
- 4 T Italian parsley (rosemary is also good, I use whatever is on hand) shopping list
How to make it
- fry bacon (reserve chopped bacon for later)
- dredge pork steaks (or chops) in seasoned flour
- sautee' in fat from the bacon until browned on both sides
- sautee' onion, garlic, mushrooms in the fat
- add wine and reduce by 1/2
- add olives and parsley
- place pork steaks in casserole dish covered with other ingredients
- bake for 1 hour 15 minutes at 325
- I like to serve the meat on the side and put the mushroom sauce over the rice or potatoes
