Savory Grits Recipe
I think this could be my new favorite food. Had them with Steak and have had them with Salmon. YUM!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 can (1 2/3 cups) chicken broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup quick grits
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmessan cheese

Directions
  1. Bring heavy cream, chicken broth, and water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add butter, salt, and pepper. Slowly whisk in grits and reduce heat. Cook 15 to 20 minutes over low heat, stirring frequently. Add cheese in the last 5 min and stir till smooth and melted. Serve immediately

Great post! Grits and cheese are the absolute best! To answer CapeDread, Grits is groceries. Mama said, "Don't ever marry a girl that can't make a roux and can't cook grits." Thanks for this recipe!


Love this recipe!


This sounds good, pure comfort food! I don't know where I can buy grits here..I think they may be an American phenomenon :(
