Crabby Poppers

- Stuffing: shopping list
- 1 pound flaked crabmeat shopping list
- 1 can (1 lb 11oz) jalapeno peppers shopping list
- 2 TB green pepper, finely chopped shopping list
- 2 TB onion, finely chopped shopping list
- ¼ c. cracker meal shopping list
- 1 egg, beaten shopping list
- ¼ tsp. salt shopping list
- ¼ tsp. black pepper shopping list
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 1/4c. milk shopping list
- Breading: shopping list
- 2 c. cracker meal shopping list
- 1 c. milk shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- ¼ tsp salt shopping list
- ¼ tsp pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Cut peppers in half lengthwise. Discard pulp and seeds and rinse carefully.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine remaining stuffing ingredients. Stuff pepper halves with crab mixture and press stuffing around pepper. Set peppers aside.
- To prepare breading, place cracker meal in a flat pan, mix together milk, eggs, salt and pepper. Dip the stuffed peppers in egg mixture, then in cracker meal. Repeat procedure. Deep fry a few at a time at 365 degrees until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper. The breading will stick better if you freeze them before frying.
