Cherry Jubilee Pie

- Baked 9 inch pie crust shopping list
- 1 can cherry pie filling shopping list
- 2 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract shopping list
- 1/2 pint whipping cream shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup sour cream shopping list
- toasted almonds, for sprinkling before serving shopping list
How to make it
- In bowl, combine cherry pie filling, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract
- Set aside
- In bowl, beat whipping cream, adding 1/4 cup sugar gradually
- Gently fold sour cream into the *whipped* cream
- Spoon about 1/2 cherry mixture into the baked pie crust
- Spread about 2/3 of the whipped cream/sour cream mixture over the cherries
- Then gently spoon the remaining cherries over this
- Spoon the 1/3 remaining whipped cream mixture over this
- Chill until firm, about 2 hours
- NOTE: may sprinkle with toasted almonds before serving
