Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375
  • Mix together, cinnamon and and 2 tsp. sugar, set aside
  • Beat together eggs and 1 cup sugar until well blended
  • Slowly beat in oil, vanilla, and lemon juice
  • Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a mixing bowl
  • Slowly add flour mixture into egg mixture beating at low speed
  • Stir in nuts
  • Coat 3 loaf pans with cooking spray
  • Divide batter among all 3 pans
  • Bake for about 17 minutes or until batter pulls away from pan and feels done
  • Reduce oven heat to 250
  • Let cool for 10 minutes or so
  • Remove cookies from pans and slice 1/2 inch thick
  • Put cookies on baking sheet single layered
  • Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over cookies
  • Bake in oven for 10 minutes

    I changed up the reciepe a bit - added chocolate chips and skor bits. Then once I had cut each loaf, I warmed up chocolate chips in a bowl in the microwave and used a fork to sprinkle on the chocolate to each piece!

    Great - I have been trying to find something "authentic" to make for my boyfriend that he grew up with since he now lives in this country! Thanks! I will try them and let you know how they turned out!

    I grew up on Long Island and my best friend's "boobie" made these for us. I was about 12-13 yrs old. Wow! Really brings back some nice, old memories.
