Crockpot Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe

How to make it

  • Whisk together all of the ingredients then add marinated chicken in your crockpot.
  • Turn the crockpot on low until the chicken is cooked throughout (6-8 hours).
  • Most people serve over Basmati rice.

    I think its a great recipe. Made it twice in two days cause:
    1. It was great.
    2. Needed salt.
    3. It was missing something, wasn't thick enough.
    It wasn't corn starch, to thicken this indian dish you have to use a whole onion( finely chopped) and add it to the mix and WALA!!
    ITS PERFECT!!
    Thanks to "desireesweet" for sharing such a wonderful recipe for crockpot. Perfect for busy people.

    Bland to the point of inedible. At the very least, it needs salt & some heat. I just added sriracha & salt after it was finished, but there's more that could be done. Additionally, the sauce is too watery. That's probably an inevitable part of cooking with a slow cooker rather than a pot, but I still found the food disappointing.

    That said, it's a very easy recipe that can be altered without difficulty, and I'll probably give it another try. Obvious ideas to mix it up would be more spices, using Greek yogurt instead of plain, and adding some vegetables.

    Made this tonight, yum yum. Changes I made - used a can of rotel (subbed for chilis and tomato sauce), 4 large bone-in breast, a can of coconut milk and kefier instead of yogurt. Even my kids liked it! Slightly spicy.

    This was wonderful....tried it last weekend....better than Good...it was better than any restaurant chicken fancy dish I've ever had out to eat...Definitely will make it again...I added a pound of mixed mushrooms, 3 different kinds I found at the veggie stand....added a nice subtle rich taste and texture...very nice desiree...very nice.
