My Dads Creole Barbeque Shrimp Recipe
This is my Dad's shrimp recipe. He makes this for my daughter and I every time we come home. It's like the greatest stuff ever! Serve with crusty french or sourdough bread and you can dip to your hearts content!

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds shrimp
  • 2 teaspoons fine and coarse black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Creole seasoning (Tony,s or other)
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic - chopped/minced
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing (Prefer -Kraft Zesty Italian)
  • 2 sticks of butter ( cut into slices)

Directions
  1. In a deep skillet -- combine pepper, Creole seasoning, paprika, garlic, water and Italian dressing.
  2. Stir, while bringing to a simmer, to prevent pepper from scorching.
  3. Once mixture reaches a full simmer, add shrimp.
  4. Simmer approximately 6 minutes (longer if shrimp is frozen)
  5. Add butter and allow to melt.
  6. Stir mixture to evenly coat all shrimp with seasoning and butter.
  7. Ladle into bowls and serve hot with warm French Bread for dipping.

Great post!!! I make something similar to this minus the Italian dressing!! Serve over pasta with parmesan cheese!! LOVE IT!!!


This is an awesome recipe!! We filled up a bowl with the pot liquor and sopped it dry!! Way to go Dad!
