How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325
  • Cream margarine, crisco & sugar together.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Sift flour, cocoa, salt & baking powder together.
  • Alternate milk flour mixture with milk.
  • Pour into a greased & lightly floured tube pan.
  • Pour nuts on top.
  • Bake about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

    I used to make chocolate pound cake often, using a very similar recipe only with no nuts. It was great, and this sounds even better with the nuts! I love pecans and English walnuts in desserts.
