New Orleans Barbecue Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 pounds unpeeled, large fresh shrimp or 6 pounds shrimp with heads on
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 lemons, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Creole seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • French bread
  • Creole Seasoning
  • -------------------------
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp paprika
  • 2 Tbsp salt (you can use less, to your taste)
  • 2 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tbsp dried leaf oregano
  • 1 Tbsp dried leaf thyme

Directions
  1. Spread shrimp in a shallow, aluminum foil-lined broiler pan.
  2. Combine butter and next 12 ingredients in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until butter melts, and pour over shrimp.
  3. Cover and chill 2 hours, turning shrimp every 30 minutes.
  4. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 20 minutes; turn once.
  5. Serve with bread.
  6. Creole Seasoning

  8. Combine all ingredients thoroughly and store in an airtight container. Makes about 2/3 cup.
