This soup is one of my family's favorite. It takes most of the day to cook and I just love the yummy aroma it makes. I make a big ole pan of corn bread and oh my what a wonderful supper it makes!!

This soup is very delicious! But I have a suggestion. We like our soup a little more "richer" than this so I drained off about 1/4 of the water after cooking and added a little more milk and butter.

Hi. I made this for supper/dinner tonight. It was great. We also like our soup more rich and thick. I added 3 chopped celery ribs and 3 grated carrots. When it was time to add the milk, I removed about 2 cuos of water,I removed about half of the potatoes and mashed them up,put them back in the pot with the evaporated milk and I also added half and half. I will definitely make again. Everyone loved it.
