How to make it
- Boil the wild rice in 2 cups of water for 20 min. Drain.
- In a baking dish, mix the wild rice with the remaining ingredients and 6 cups of water.
- Cover with foil and bake on 190C/375F until the liquid is absorbed and the grains are tender (about 1 1/2 hour). Stir every 20 min.
- Serve warm with milk.
- This recipe freezes well. Just divide it into portion sized batches and freeze. You can put it in your fridge the night before you plan on eating it and it will be thawed the next morning. You can also put it in the microwave oven for 4 or 5 mins on max effect.
