Peel potatoes


Cut and boil potatoe


Mash


Whisk in cream, butt


Place heaps in an ov

Ingredients
  • 3 - 5 nice big potatoes
  • a big blob of butter
  • 1/3 teaspoon baking powder (3 ml)
  • 1 cup cream (250 ml)
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (125 ml)

Directions
  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into dices.
  2. Boil until soft.
  3. Mash.
  4. Whisk in the butter, cream and baking powder.
  5. Place big spoonfuls of mixture into an oven dish.
  6. Cover with grated cheese.
  7. Bake at 360 deg f (180 deg C) for 20 - 25 minutes.
  8. Serve as a side dish

These look really good, an easy & attractive way to jazz-up mashed; and, I'm with Robert -- I can see roasted garlic, or maybe even green onions or chives going in the mash... I bet this would be great with meatloaf! Thanks, Liezel, for (yet another!) great post!
