Banana-Nut Bread recipe. This is a delicious old-fashion recipe I got from my favorite cookbok (published in 1966-year I was born) from hometown, Lexington, NC. I've bake this bread every Christmas for my family. It's always a favorite.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 3 crushed bananas (quite ripe)
  • (for holiday; I like to add colored sugar sprinkles on top before baking to give it a more festive look)

Directions
  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. add beaten eggs
  3. then flour and baking soda
  4. Mash bananas well; add fruit and pecans
  5. Turn into greased loaf pan
  6. bake 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees
  7. this freezes extremely well

Thanks! sometimes I put chocolate chips in the batter..yummmy when it comes out of the oven. :)
