Banana-Nut Bread recipe. This is a delicious old-fashion recipe I got from my favorite cookbok (published in 1966-year I was born) from hometown, Lexington, NC. I've bake this bread every Christmas for my family. Read more It's always a favorite. See less

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter shopping list
2 eggs, beaten shopping list
1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
1/2 cup chopped pecans shopping list
1 cup sugar shopping list
2 cups sifted flour shopping list
3 crushed bananas (quite ripe) shopping list
(for holiday; I like to add colored sugar sprinkles on top before baking to give it a more festive look) shopping list

How to make it

Cream butter and sugar
add beaten eggs
then flour and baking soda
Mash bananas well; add fruit and pecans
Turn into greased loaf pan
bake 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees
this freezes extremely well

thanks! sometimes I put chocolate chips in the batter..yummmy when it comes out of the oven. :)
