How to make it

  • heat the oil
  • slice the tomato's at least a 1/4 inch thick slabs
  • lay flat on paper plate...
  • sprinkle each tomato slice with Cajun batter
  • flip and coat the opposite side
  • use a spatula and place slices in the oil
  • when the edges go brown flip them
  • total cook time is fast if your oil is hot
  • these are fried prior to your fish fry
  • drain them on paper towel or paper plate...(dont use styrofoam)
  • sprinkle one side with mrs dash while draining
  • the tomato heels are tricky to coat on one side
  • serve hot
