Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat tbsp of olive oil in large pan.
  • Add onion, garlic, and jalapenos to pan.
  • Cook five minutes or until onions are tender.
  • Stir in ketchup and remaining ingredients except beans.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in the beans, and simmer for 1 hour over very low heat stirring occasionally.
  • Watch carefully so beans don't stick to the pan.
  • Can also add a bit of smoked sausage with the beans.

    absolutely love black beans and this combination sounds wonderful. Since I'm always broke, beans are a good thing to keep around. This will be a great change of pace for the family and it will keep the whining down to a minimum...not the same old black beans AGAIN. Thanks for the post.
