How to make it

  • Toast bread in a toaster
  • Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over high heat. Add sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice and cook, stirring until the sugar melts and the mixture begins to bubble, 30 seconds to 1 minute. Add strawberries and stir until juices begin t o exude and the berries are heated through, 30 seconds to 1 minute more.
  • Spread 1 T mascarpone on each slice of toast. Top with the warm berries.

    This looks simple to make and hard not to adore! I often eat very no-frill-y breakfasts because a lot of elaborate preparation is hard for me when I've just woken up. However, I think I can handle this, and better yet, I think my picky husband will like it too! Thank you for sharing this one.
