Ingredients

How to make it

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl and let stand 10 min until frothy.
  • Add milk, sugar, egg, salt and enough flour to make a soft dough.
  • Knead for 6 to 8 minutes on floured surface (until dough is smooth)
  • Form dough into a ball and let rise, covered, in a well-oiled bowl for 1 hour. The dough should double in size.
  • Punch down dough and knead in garlic if using.
  • Form dough into golf-ball sized balls and let rise 30 minutes (until doubled).
  • Preheat grill while balls are rising.
  • Flatten each ball into circle (I use my hands but you can roll them)
  • Brush with butter (or spray with no-stick) and cook on grill 2-3 minutes, until puffy and light brown.
  • Brush uncooked side with butter (or spray again) and flip, cooking for another 2-4 minutes until browned.
  • Repeat until all naan are cooked.
  • Serve hot with curry of your choice.
