How to make it

  • Making the marinade: In a sauce pan, combine water, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper, and onion. Stirring to disolve sugar and prevent scorching, bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Safety tip, don't put your face right over pot and inhale while boiling. That vinegar steam will kick your butt!)
  • In large sealable bowl, container, add all canned items. Pour in marinade, stir, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Great for everyday or potlucks or picnics. Especially in summer when a cool refreshing salad really hits the spot and won't spoil sitting out on that picnic table.

    The can of bean salad comes with kidney, green and wax beans in it. Garbonzos are the 4th variety. Thanks for asking. :)

    I counted 5 beans:bean salad can, garbonzo beans, green beans, wax beans, and kidney beans. IS a can of bean salad not considered? :)

    Hey, you can't count just like ME!!!!!!!!! Back in the early 70's my moom had to send me garbonzo beans from CAlifornia as couldn't find them in stores in north Alabama!!!!!!!!!
