Garlicky Buttered-lemon Shrimp
From hoosiermom68 17 years agoIngredients
- 2 lbs.uncooked shell-on shrimp (medium to jumbo size) shopping list
- 2 1/2 sticks butter (no margarine) shopping list
- 2 lemons shopping list
- 4-6 garlic cloves (halved) shopping list
How to make it
- Rinse raw shrimp in lukewarm water until completely thawed.
- Set aside.
- In a stock pot,over low-medium heat,add butter and garlic.
- Squeeze the juice from the lemons into the pot and throw in the smooshed lemons.
- When the butter is melted and starts to bubble, add the raw shrimp.
- PLEASE be careful not to scorch the butter.
- Cover with lid and shake pot back and forth over burner (kinda the old fashioned way you'd make popcorn).
- Do not remove the lid,and cook for 16-18 minutes, constantly shaking the pot.
- Once cooked, the shrimp will be the most beautiful pink-orange color.
- Peel and eat, using remaining lemon-butter for dipping.
