Chocolate Sour Cream Pound Cake

- cake shopping list
- 1 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted shopping list
- 2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 8 ounces sour cream (do not use reduced fat) shopping list
- 1 cup boiling water shopping list
- frosting shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 3 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted shopping list
- 1/4 cup hot water shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Have all ingredients at room temperature.
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs, melted chocolate, and vanilla to creamed mixture.
- Mix baking soda, flour, and salt.
- Add to chocolate, alternating with sour cream.
- Gradually add boiling water to mixture, blending well.
- Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes or until done.
- Cool in pan for 20 minutes before removing from pan.
- Cool cake completely before frosting.
- To prepare frosting, cream butter.
- Add sugar, chocolate, and water.
- Beat until creamy and smooth.
