Ingredients

How to make it

  • Brown sausage & saute onions at same time
  • Add roux and about 1/2 cup of the water until it looks creamy
  • Add the cubed potatoes and cook 5 mins.
  • Add the rest of the water, seasonings and bouillon cubes
  • Let it cook on low for about 35-45 mins.
  • Stirring often.

    This is great! I wanted to make it on Saturday so I would have it when the cold front blows through Sun-Mon. Love meat and potatoes combo.

    This reminds me of a dish I make. I saute the smoked sausages, cubed potatoes and onions until barely browned, cover & cook until the potatoes are done. Remove cover and finish browning. I could eat the whole pan full.

    Put two cups of plain flour in a heavy pan, put the heat to medium and stir constantly with a whisk until it turns a caramel color. It takes about 20 mins. Then you put about 1/2 cup of the dry roux and add a little water at a time to make it to the roux consistency.

    How do you brown it ?? [flour I mean] & I tke it it's suppose to thicken the stew!!,
    Anyway i'm in the middle of it so I hope its GOOD, ha ha

    Hi Petunia, This is my kind of recipe. I wanted to know what dry roux is ??? I make a roux with flour and oil. Is there a dry mix of this?
