How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350.
  • Pat apricots dry with paper towels then cut into slices and set aside.
  • Combine flour, sugar, butter, sour cream, eggs, baking powder and lemon peel.
  • Beat at low speed scraping bowl often until well mixed about 2 minutes.
  • Spread into greased square baking pan.
  • Stir together 1/3 cup sugar, butter, flour and lemon peel until crumbly.
  • Arrange apricots over batter then spoon crumbly mixture over apricots.
  • Bake 45 minutes.
  • Stir together powdered sugar and enough reserved apricot juice for desired glazing consistency.
  • Drizzle glaze over warm coffeecake.

    Cat.. can you tell I love coffeecakes....this takes me back a few years... alot of memories when my mom used to smell up the kitchen with her coffeecakes... we would sit and have coffee...Great memories.....and Great Post!!!
