How to make it

  • Toast bread lightly in hot oven until dry and crusty. Cut garlic cloves in halves and rub entire loaf with garlic;crush remaining pieces amd spread on top of bread. Place the garlic loaf in a heat-proof soup tureen. Bring soup to a rolling boil and pour over the toasty bread.
  • Sprinkle thickly with grated cheese. Cover top of loaf with sliced cheese Place in a hot oven for 5 mins or until cheese is melted. Serve at once in deep soup bowls with a portion of bread and cheese.
