How to make it

  • Brew a stock with lots of carrots, cabbage, radishes, turnips and fresh herbs.
  • Rinse red lentils in water
  • Cover with hot water and bring to a boil for about 10 minutes
  • Lower temperature and stir now and again until it is soft to the touch and the taste distinct
  • BE CAREFUL not to cook it for too long as it can become a pulp and become bitter
  • Add the lentils to the stock and add lots of grated carrots.
  • Boil until carrots are cooked
  • Let it stand for a while and liquidize
  • Add cream, salt and pepper or anything else that may enhance the taste.
  • ENJOY
  • Serve with coriander bread

    Have you ever used the mill? I just got one but I doesnt meet my expectations. I think I will stick to the blender, but I do want to master in bisques..and I know the manual mill is a tool usually used. Hugs!

    I don't toss out the veggies everything gets puree - See point 6 when to add the lentils

    At the point that you add the lentils to the stock, have you strained the stock and tossed out the stew vegetables? Or, have the stew vegetables been left in for the puree?

    I am very sorry I gave your recipe a low rating but it bothered me that there weren't any amounts listed. I'm the type of cook who needs measurements and I honestly wanted to prepare this soup. I hope you don't take any personal offense to my rating as I have seen your other recipes and they look great!
