My mom always made these too, but with a bottle of barbeque sauce and a jar of grape jelly. I think your recipe sounds much better though. This is also really good if you substitute a can of cranberry sauce for the jelly. I made it that way once for Christmas Eve and also added bacon bits to my homemade meatballs; got rave reviews from my family, but my blue ribbon moment came when my big sis asked for my recipe!
