Ingredients

How to make it

  • Combine flour, soda, baking powder, salt, and spices.
  • Beat eggs then add sugar, oil and vanilla and beat until smooth.
  • Stir in peas and remaining ingredients.
  • Pour into two round cake pans and bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
  • To make frosting combine all ingredients until spreading consistency.
  • Spread over cooled cake.

    I made this recipe after finding it here and searching far and wide. My husband and I discovered this at an Italian restaurant in Seattle who wouldnt give up their recipe. It turned out better than the restaurants! I will be making it again for special parties! The only thing I would change is adding more orange flavor to the iceing. It was delicious!

    This would be neat for New Year's Day! I've never heard of anything like this! I always go to a fabulous party on New Year's Day...we don't like to go out when all the crazy drunks are on the road, and I will be taking this cake w/ me in 2009...but we will make it 1st...I'll let you know!
