Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cook & peel and mash sweet potatoes.
  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Butter a 1 1/2 qt casserole.
  • Hold back 2 Tbsp brown sugar and add rest of ingredients to the mashed sweet potatoes.
  • Turn into casserole dish.
  • Sprinkle with 2 Tbsp brown sugar.
  • Bake 30 minutes.

    I have made this every year for about 20 yrs. everyone loves it.
    This recipe serves more like 10 (not 6).
    This is the recipe from my Williamsburg Cookbook, and I just saw the pdf from the Williamsburg website, so it is current.

    Damn, I ate dinner there as a teenager. Wow this is a trip down memory lane. I was overwhelmed at the time. Remember putting salt in my tea because I'd never seen salt served in a bowl with a tiny spoon.
