Ingredients

How to make it

  • make dough, wrap in plastic foil, put in fridge for about 30 minutes. in the meantime,
  • preheat oven to 175° CENTIGRADE
  • ofen vorheizen auf 175°
  • peel oranges, be sure to remove all white skin
  • then
  • either cut filets of the oranges, or thin slices (i think they look prettier on the cake)
  • stir together butter, confectioners sugar, eggs. starch, crème fraîche , anis powder.
  • roll out largest portion of dough thinly for base,
  • line springform sides with remainder of dough
  • poor the mixture (i sometimes add some Grand Marnier)
  • onto the dough, spreading evenly, then arrange orange slices or filets.
  • put into oven for approx. 35 minutes.
  • remove, let cool
  • now you may either let it cool completely, power it with some of the confectioners sugar and serve with whipped cream 'scented' with Grand Marnier,
  • or serve it slightly warm with some ice-cream.
  • ahhhhh - the aroma will drive you crazy. bet you cannot let it get cold :-)

Oh, the anise sounds like a wonderful taste in a cake. I wonder what cardamom would do as well...
