The Old Dreaded Fruitcocktail Cake Recipe

Ingredients

Mix and sift 3 times:

3 cups flour

1 teasp.allspice

1 teasp.cinnamon

1 teasp.nutmeg

1 teasp.baking soda

Mix well:

1 cup butter

2 cups sugar

2 beaten eggs

1 (#2 can)fruit cocktail

1 cup chopped nuts

1 cup chopped apple

1 cup dates or raisins

1 teasp. vanilla extract

1 teasp. lemon extract

Combine the two groupes together

Bake in a cake pan or tube pan

For 2 hours or more at 250 or 300 degree oven

Let cool before removing from pan

And if that's not bad enough ,serve a big old glob of rich whipped cream on top,with a side bowl of home made vanilla ice cream
