The Old Dreaded Fruitcocktail Cake

Oh,No,Not the old cocktail cake again! Oh, Yes, and you only thought it was safe to go into the kitchen.

Mix and sift 3 times: shopping list
3 cups flour shopping list
1 teasp.allspice shopping list
1 teasp.cinnamon shopping list
1 teasp.nutmeg shopping list
1 teasp.baking soda shopping list
Mix well: shopping list
1 cup butter shopping list
2 cups sugar shopping list
2 beaten eggs shopping list
1 (#2 can)fruit cocktail shopping list
1 cup chopped nuts shopping list
1 cup chopped apple shopping list
1 cup dates or raisins shopping list
1 teasp. vanilla extract shopping list
1 teasp. lemon extract shopping list
Combine the two groupes together shopping list
Bake in a cake pan or tube pan shopping list
For 2 hours or more at 250 or 300 degree oven shopping list
Let cool before removing from pan shopping list
And if that's not bad enough ,serve a big old glob of rich whipped cream on top,with a side bowl of home made vanilla ice cream shopping list

Thanks for the great recipe, I've made the Fruit Coctail cake before but never with apples etc. You get my 5 for this one also, I'm bookmarking it to try your way, I know it will be wonderfully moist and yummie.

Thank you! This is not dreaded at all. My grandma used to make this. It brings back memories. She made great desserts and this was one of them.
