Cake Plain Pennsylvania German Recipe 1915 ish

- 1 1/4 cups sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter (or butter and lard) shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- Alts: shopping list
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened chocolate shopping list
- or shopping list
- Small fruit cake shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ginger shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves shopping list
- 1 cup raisins (any dried fruit really) shopping list
How to make it
- Mix all of the above together.
- Cook in a 13 by 9 inch pan for 30ish minutes at 350 degrees.
- Frost with boiled icing.
- This is a thick batter, you really have to spread it.
- I added more liguid then it called for and 1 less egg the second time around.
- It is a good cake, more of a pound cake to be honest.
