Shepherds Pie

- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef shopping list
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (fresh or instant) shopping list
- 2 carrots, shaved into strips with a potato peeler shopping list
- 1 med onion, chopped (optional) shopping list
- 1 large tomato, chopped, or one can chopped tomatoes, dranied shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 3 Tbsp worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 can green peas (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat over to 350F, 170C, Gas Mark 4
- In a large frying pan or skillet brown the ground beef
- Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, onion, carrots, tomatoes and peas, mixing well
- Cook mixture for two or three minutes, then turn off heat
- Pour beef and veg mixture into a large casserole dish
- Top the mixture with the mashed potatoes, covering the top evenly and scoring with a fork to make slight ridges in the top
- Bake for 45 minutes
- Let the casserole set for 5-10 minutes before serving
