I wanted something besides soup mix in this and spied the strogonoff packet in my pantry. It turned out really tender and flavorful and happily without many ingredients!

Ingredients
  • 2 to 2 ½ pounds round steak
  • 1 pkg. beef stroganoff mix
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup red or white wine
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup

Directions
  1. Cut steak into 6 serving pieces.
  2. Brown meat in bacon fat.
  3. Place in slow cooker.
  4. Add remaining ingredients.
  5. (stroganoff mix is in a pkg. similar to dry onion soup mix)
  6. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
  7. Serve with mashed potatoes.
