Ribs With Sweet Bourbon Basting Sauce

- 5 to 6 lbs pork back ribs, cut into serving sizes shopping list
- 1 T oil shopping list
- ½ C finely chopped sweet onion shopping list
- 2 garlic cloves, minced shopping list
- ¼ C bourbon shopping list
- ½ C water shopping list
- ¼ C teriyaki baste and glaze shopping list
- ¼ c frozen pineapple juice concentrate shopping list
- 2 T lime juice shopping list
- 1 C brown sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Par cook ribs until almost tender by covering with water and simmering on stovetop.
- While ribs are simmering....make sauce
- Drain in colander and rinse with cold water until cool enough to handle, pat dry with paper towels
- Place in resealable bag with marinade and
- marinate at least 4 hours or up to 24 hours, turning occasionally
- Sauce
- Saute onion and garlic in oil in medium saucepan
- Add 1 T bourbon
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer 8 to 10 minutes or until onion is tender
- Add all remaining ingredients, except bourbon and ribs, mix well and bring to boil
- Simmer, uncovered 20 to 30 minutes or until consistency of thick syrup, stirring frequently
- Remove from heat, stir in bourbon
- Set aside, reserving ¼ C for brushing on ribs
- Preheat grill and cook over medium heat 25 to 35 minutes, turning and brushing with reserved sauce
- Discard any leftover sauce
