Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cut pizza dough into 2 pieces
  • In a mixing bowl combine ricotta, mozzarella and egg. Add Ham & mix thoroughly. Set aside.
  • Roll the dough into two rounds.
  • Spoon the filling onto the center of the dough rounds. Using your finger, rub a little olive oil on the edge of the dough.
  • Fold each round over on itself to form a half moon shape.
  • Use your fingers to press on edges to seal.
  • Beat remaining egg and brush over the top of the calzones.
  • Bake about 25 minutes or until the dough is cooked through and golden brown.
  • Serve with Italian sauce.

  • This one I make for my husband. On mine I add thinly sliced onions and green peppers!

I make this with home made pizza dough. I cut a little vent in the top. I sometimes sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top of calzone it adds a nice crispy touch.
    Great recipe

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED IT DEEP FRIED, WOW, WHAT A TASTE, JUST MAKE IT W/THE RICOTTA, MOZZ, AND A SLICE OF HAM, ROLL OUT THE DOUGH, PLACE THE RICOTTA, FIRST, THE SLICE OF HAM, AND THE MOZZ IN THE HAM THEN ROLL OVER AND PINCH THE ENDS, LIKE NORMAL, AND GIVE A SLIGHT STRETCH WHEN YOU DUNK IT IN THE OIL, COOK TILL BROWN, LEAVE OUT ALL THAT EGG STUFF. THE TASTE IS FANTASTIC, AND FROM BROOKLYN, NY. ENJOY IT...
