In case you've heard of it and wondered what it is, it's a traditional English dish made from leftovers. It tastes great and is good for a quick Thursday night meal.

Ingredients
  • Cold cooked beef (leftover roast is good)
  • 2 knobs of butter
  • 1/4 head of cooked cabbage, finely chopped
  • 4 med. potatoes, mashed
  • 1 or 2 cooked carrots sliced into coins
  • Salt and pepper

Directions
  1. Thinly slice enough beef for 4 people
  2. Sprinkle with pepper and fry quickly using 1 knob of butter
  3. Take beef out of the pan and keep it warm
  4. Mix mashed potatoes, carrots and cabbage together, season with salt and pepper and fry in the same pan for about 5 minutes until golden
  5. Serve with the beef on warmed plates
