These potatoes are wonderfully rich and go very well with a seasoned steak.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs. new potatoes, quartered
  • 8 tbs. (1 stick butter) cubed
  • Salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 lb. of crispy bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbs snipped fresh chives

Directions
  1. Put the potatoes in a pan and cover with salted water.
  2. Bring pan to a boil and reduce to a simmer.
  3. Cook the potatoes until fork tender, about 10 minutes.
  4. Drain potatoes well.
  5. Add the butter and cream.
  6. Mash the potatoes until slightly smooth.
  7. Add the bacon, chives and sour cream.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

I make my mashed potatoes very similar to this recipe. The only difference is that I add 10 cloves of garlic to the potato water and boil it right along with the potatoes. You should try it that way sometime if you like garlic.


Sounds delicious! You can not go wrong when you serve potatoes. I think everybody loves them!
