  • 1/2 CUP ( I STICK ) BUTTER
  • 1/2 CUP UNSWEETENED COCOA POWDER
  • 1 CUP SUGAR
  • 1/2 CUP ALL- PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 1/4 CUP BUTTERMILK
  • 1 EGG
  • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
  • 1 CUP MINIATURE MARSHMELLOWS
  • 1 CUP COARSELY CHOPPED WALNUTS
  • 1 CUP ( 6 OUNCES) SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS

Directions
  1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES F.
  2. LIGHTLY GREASE 8 INCH SQUARE PAN
  3. COMBINE BUTTER AND COCOA IN MEDIUM SAUCEPAN OVER LOW HEAT, STIRRING CONSTANTLY UNTIL SMOOTH.
  4. REMOVE FROM HEAT; STIR IN SUGAR, FLOUR, BUTTERMILK, EGG AND VANILLA.
  5. MIX UNTIL SMOOTH.
  6. SPREAD BATTER EVENLY IN PREPARED PAN.
  7. BAKE 25 MINUTES OR UNTIL CENTER FEELS DRY;( DO NOT OVER BAKE OR BROWNIES WILL BE DRY).
  8. REMOVE FROM OVEN;SPRINKLE WITH MARSHMELLOWS AND WALNUTS AND CHOCOLATE CHIPS, RETURN TO OVEN FOR 3 MINUTES OR JUST ENOUGH UNTIL TOPPING IS WARMED ENOUGH TO MELT SOME.
  9. COOL IN PAN ON WIRE RACK
  10. CUT INTO 2 INCH SQUARES
  11. MAKES 16 BROWNIES
