How to make it

  • PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES F.
  • LIGHTLY GREASE 8 INCH SQUARE PAN
  • COMBINE BUTTER AND COCOA IN MEDIUM SAUCEPAN OVER LOW HEAT, STIRRING CONSTANTLY UNTIL SMOOTH.
  • REMOVE FROM HEAT; STIR IN SUGAR, FLOUR, BUTTERMILK, EGG AND VANILLA.
  • MIX UNTIL SMOOTH.
  • SPREAD BATTER EVENLY IN PREPARED PAN.
  • BAKE 25 MINUTES OR UNTIL CENTER FEELS DRY;( DO NOT OVER BAKE OR BROWNIES WILL BE DRY).
  • REMOVE FROM OVEN;SPRINKLE WITH MARSHMELLOWS AND WALNUTS AND CHOCOLATE CHIPS, RETURN TO OVEN FOR 3 MINUTES OR JUST ENOUGH UNTIL TOPPING IS WARMED ENOUGH TO MELT SOME.
  • COOL IN PAN ON WIRE RACK
  • CUT INTO 2 INCH SQUARES
  • MAKES 16 BROWNIES
