This recipe was given to me many years ago,and i have used it too many times to mention.

Ingredients
  • 1quart strawberries
  • rum.....enough to cover strawberries
  • 1/4 lb powdered sugar
  • Stem and clean and wash thoroughly.Drain on a napkin
  • add to berries and let stand for 2 hours before serving.
  • Not too long,however,as the berries will become soggy.
  • Drain and serve very cold
  • **********************************************************
  • SAUCE
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream
  • 2oz Kirschwasser( cherry brandy)
  • 1cup whipping cream(whipped)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Mix and stir well
  • fold into above mixture andf chill
  • Serve over strawberries in a glass compote.
